Bath and Body Works *Sale*

Bath & Body Works happens to be one of my favorite stores. I am addicted (yes, I’ll be the first to admit I have a slight problem) to buying their body products, as well as their home products because they’re always having a sale!

Going on right now throughout next Sunday (September 21st) is their [2 for $22] 3-Wick candle sale! This is my most favorite sale they have, because it’s like buying one candle and getting one free. Then, to top that all off you get can each additional candle for only $11. You can combined this sale with any coupons you have. I bought 3 candles on sale and then used my coupon for $10 off a $30 purchase and my total come to just under $24.00!!!

Want to know why I love BBW candles so much? Well- first off… it’s because they smell amazingg!! I’m serious! And they smell even better when their burning. I also love how they fill the entire room with the lovely scent, just kidding, they fill my entire down stairs! They also burn evenly because they have 3 wicks. These candles last a while too. I usually buy certain scents for each season and they usually last past that!

My current favorite obsession is the smell of cinnamon & pumpkin. Their Hierloom Pumpkin is just that with a hint of nutmeg. MMM mmm MMM it smells just like fall time.

Some of my other personal favorites for all year, are what I like to call “man candles” .. because they smell like a mans cologne. I’m talking like… Abecrombie & Fitch.. you can’t walk by that store without taking in a breath of handsome hunk-ness! Well if your like me, then this candle for you is called {{ Mahogany Teakwood }} trust me you wont be disapointed!! My other favorites are Citron Cedarwood, Bergamod Woods and Flannel! You’ll thank me later! 😉

*Red, White & Blue* Themed Mantel

With 4th of July in just a week away I thought I would share with you my DIY *Red, White and Blue* themed mantel in our living room. It’s perfect for both memorial day throughout the 4th of July!

mantle4thjuly
On the mantel I have a few picture frames, our initials “C&S” for Christopher & Sara, and a candle pillar. To add the special red, white and blue touch I picked up a few things at our local Joann’s.
cutestuff
I found this really cute star made out of grapevine and I thought it would be perfect to take the place of the wreath I normally would make to hang on the front the mirror.  I also found a smaller star (red, white and blue) to hang in the middle of this one to add a little color. Next, I am going to show you how I made the star banner. It’s so easy to make, no one would ever guess it was homemade. I found some red, white and blue paper in the scrapbook isle. I cut out some stars to attach to the banner.
bannermakings
I cut out some burlap paper into the banner shape (7 to be total). Then fold the back down enough to hot glue the string behind it.

Once that is done you can flip it back over and hot glue your cut out star shapes to the front. Color coordinating red, white then blue.

Hang this up in the center of your mantel.

I found this FREEDOM wood sign at Joann’s as well. Snatched this baby up 70% off! I love a great sale.

minipillow
This cute mini pillow is hung from one of the picture frame, adds just enough color to the left side of the mantel. Sometimes I think less is more.

This 4th of July themed candle is one the right side. On the candle are all differnt words that describe that special day, such as fireworks, bbq, picnics, america, freedom, and so on.

Just a couple small things make a big difference. ENJOY!

Ruby Red Rose Martini

Here is anther yummy drink just in time for summer.

{RUBY RED MARTINI}
Oh yeahh, this is a sweet and savory drink you can enjoy all summer long. It’s a twist on the classic “Shirley Temple” using Red Moscato Wine.

A while back I ordered one of these at the bar, and learned that a truely classic Shirley temple is made with ginger ale and not a lemon-lime soda.  And if your like me you’re probably wondering why.. the reason behind that was because… Shirley Temple was a “ginger” of course! Well, now that makes a whole lot of sense!

When I was younger I used to order these all the time (because it was the only cool looking non-alcoholic drink, oviously, oh and it tasted yummy!). Something about sweet cherries and bubbly soda{mmm mmm mmm}.

Now as I get older I would rather something a bit more refreshing to sip on while laying in the hot sun. The Red Moscato Wine does just the trick, now the drink is not overly sweet.

For two Martini’s you will need:

  • 4 oz Red Moscato Wine
  • 4 0z Ginger Ale
  • 1  oz Cherry Juice or Rose Grenadian
  • some Maraschino cherries and slice lemons for garnish

You can use a bar shaker if you have one and shake up the wine, cherry juice and ice. If you don’t that is okay too, just stir the wine and Grenadian together. Then add the ginger ale slowly and top off with some cherries and add a lemon for a garnish.

If you want to make this ahead of time in a pitcher you can do that as well. One bottle of wine, a half liter of ginger ale and 4 oz of cherry juice should do the trick. 😉

* Add cut up slices of lemons to a muffin pan and fill with water then freeze it and add to your pitcher to keep your Red Ruby’s colder for longer.

Sparling White Wine {Peach} Sangria

It’s getting warmer out. YAY! Time for the sweet summer time and drinks poolside. Here is an easy drink you can create and put in a pitcher to share with all of your girls while relaxing in the sunshine.

Peach Moscato Sangria Ingred

You will need:

1 bottle of white wine { My personal favorite is Barefoot Moscato because it’s sweet yet refreshing. Best part is they also make a Red Moscato and a White so you could use either)
1/2 a Liter of Sprite
2 cups Peach flavored Juice or 4 oz. Peach Schnapps
2 white peaches
2 oranges
You can also add strawberries and raspberries or what ever you’d like!

Peach and wine
If you want to make this drink per glass and wine first, fill it up half way. Then add some sprite and 1/2 oz. of peach schnapps. Garnish with peaches and oranges.

Looks so fresh and refreshing!

Mother’s day ~Moscato Wine Punch~ Mommy Juice

When I think of Mother’s Day I think of relaxing and spending time treating mom special on her day. Lots of yummy food and adult beverages would also be nice 😉 how about some “mommy juice” a.k.a mommy’s favorite {wine} !

Here is an easy way to jazz it up a bit…

image

What you will need:
*Mom’s favorite wine
*Simply Lemonade (any flavor she would enjoy most)
*Sprite (liter for punch bowl or 1can per 2drinks)
*Moms favorite fruit (such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries)

For a punch bowl you will use 1 bottle wine, 1 container of lemonade, and half a liter of sprite. I like to freeze the fruit so it can also be used to keep the punch cold. I also set a side some blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries in small bowls so you  can add as many to your glass as you’d like. In the punch bowl I use frozen sliced lemon to keep it cooler in the summer heat.

If you would like to make individual glasses of Mommy Punch use half wine, half lemonade, half a can of sprite per wine glass. Then garnish with fruit and enjoy 😁 I know she will love it!

*kids can enjoy this special drink too, just skip the wine for their glass 😉 he he.. They’ll never know.

Valentine’s Mantel & Decor

We took down the Christmas decorations a few weeks ago.. and wow everything looked so bare. Chris thought it would be a good idea to decorate for Valentine’s Day {haha!} … let’s just say I thought he was being sarcastic. Turns out he enjoys the decorations as much as I do! 🙂

I searched around for some ideas on Pinterest and found some cute banners for the fireplace. Here’s how mine turned out:

Cute right? It was wicked easy.

I went to Joann’s and found some burlap paper. I cut out a stencil first for how I wanted the shape of the banner to be, and cut out 7 sections. Using some cute and festive valentines day scrap book paper I cut out hearts to hot glue them to the burlap. Next, I used some string and super glued it to the burlap paper by folding the edge of the burlap 1/2 inch over the string. It was a very inexpensive way to make a cute banner. Total cost was about $8 and the supplies made 3 banners (that I gave away to my friends/family). Oh and I always use a 40% off coupon for my most expensive item, you can print yours today online or show them the code on your smart phone at most craft stores.

Next, I wanted to make a Valentine’s Day wreath using my favorite and easiest way , a premade {Grapevine wreath} (you can find these at Hobby Lobby, Joann’s, Micheal’s, and even Wal-Mart). The best part is they cost about $3.99-8.99 depending on the size. I then find some holiday florals and cut them and intertwine them into the wreath. You can add whatever you like, ribbon, flowers, letters, to personalize it any way you like.

I was lucky and was able to find some left over Christmas florals that were marked down 80% off. Yay!  I mixed red and white to give it a valentines day look.

Isn’t this saying adorable? ~ “Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite” ~ A little too mushy gushy for everyday, but perfect for my Valentine’s day decor. Since this decoration is only going to be used for such a short time ( only about 20 days) I decide to just print out the saying using powerpoint. Then I cut it out and glued it to  some cardboard, wrapped around the same string I used for the banner and also the same cut out hearts.

To make this look personalized, add some pictures of you and your love, like I did. I think the black and white pictures make it look romantic.

And there you have it ~ my quick, easy, and inexpensive way to add Valentine’s Day decor and a touch of love to your home today!
